QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Design Creativity:
Showcase a high level of creativity in landscape design, ensuring that each project reflects both
client desires and optimal plant health.
Expert Knowledge of Plants & Environment:
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of plant species, their sunlight, water, and soil requirements,
and how they interact with local ecosystems. Ensure designs are realistic, sustainable, and thrive
in their environment.
Attention to Detail:
Ensure that plant placement accounts for both immediate visual appeal and long-term plant
growth. Be mindful of spacing, sun exposure, and soil quality.
Strong Communication Skills:
Communicate design ideas clearly to clients, crews, and project managers. Be able to explain
plant choices and design reasoning in a way that is understandable and convincing.
Time Management:
Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ensure plant installation is done efficiently and
that designs are executed within the specified timeframe.
Problem Solving:
Use creative problem-solving skills when confronted with unexpected site conditions or plant
health issues. Troubleshoot to ensure optimal outcomes.

Soil & Site Analysis:
Conduct thorough site assessments to evaluate soil quality, drainage, and sunlight exposure. Use
this data to inform design choices and optimize plant health and growth.
Sustainability Focus:
Incorporate sustainable practices in plant selection, prioritizing native plants, drought-tolerant
species, and low-maintenance designs. Reduce environmental impact while maintaining visual
appeal.
Collaboration with Clients & Teams:
Work directly with clients to understand their vision and preferences. Collaborate with other
team members (e.g., estimators, site supervisors) to ensure design feasibility, plant availability,
and timely execution.
Manage Planting Projects:
Oversee the installation of plantings to ensure designs are executed correctly. Monitor plant care
and provide maintenance instructions to clients when needed (e.g., pruning, fertilizing,
watering).
Troubleshoot Plant Issues:
Identify problems with plant health or placement (e.g., overexposure to sun, poor soil
conditions) and offer practical solutions to remedy them.
Continual Learning & Trends:
Stay up-to-date on the latest landscaping trends, plant varieties, and design techniques.
Regularly research new species or plants that may suit local conditions better.
Maintain Planting Documentation:
Create and maintain detailed planting records, including plant varieties, sizes, growth patterns,
and any specific care instructions.
